Ceramic Design and Workshop

"Art teaches me that the goal is not perfection, but harmony."

Behind the shapes and colors of Svo Ceramic are the ideas, experiences and dreams of Nadia Saponaro designer and artisan from Turin, but of Venetian adoption. In her atelier, which is open to the public, she crafts and exhibits her collections made from gres and porcelain. The workshop, located in Murano, was opened in October 2019: an unusual place to open a studio dedicated to ceramics, but the island that for hundreds of years has seen the production of fine glass works is a place where decorative and functional art is passed down from generation to generation. Murano is an island of art and artists. Nadia's journey into the world of ceramics, began upon completion of her degree in Foreign Languages from Ca' Foscari in Venice in 2011. As a typical rite of passage, after finishing university Nadia traveled the world and it was during a trip to Andalusia that she first approached ceramics, in a small atelier in the town of Cadiz. Once back in Venice, she joined the Bochaleri association where she found a fertile place to learn from the Venetian masters and devote much time to practice. Her work focuses on making everyday objects, unique and original, with the desire to offer an intense and embracing experience every day. Technology, sensuality and materiality define her designs in pursuit of a harmony capable of awakening the senses and emotions.
