The history of this company is inextricably linked to the figure of its founder, Vianello Gianfranco Crea, seven-time consecutive winner of the Venice Historical Regatta together with Palmiro Fongher. His grandfather had already won his first Regatta in 1918, but it was the competitions between 1977 and 1983 that gave him the title "King of Rowing". A passion for sport, for Venice, for fishing and for the sea that was combined with an education at the school of art and the examination of Master of the axe. At the Scuola dei Vecchi Maestri Gianfranco perfected the technique of woodworking, giving life to a company strongly committed to handing down an ancient art while focusing on innovation. In addition to being one of the few centers where gondolas are produced, Cantiere Nautico Crea, based in Giudecca, also designs and manufactures other custom boats and performs restorations of vintage boats in a continuous search for perfection by experimenting with materials and techniques to improve safety and performance.
