Stefano Bullo, Aldo Giuponi, Damiano Gorup-de Besanez, Ignazio Pavanini, Saverio Pastor (who left the group in 1999), from April 1980, decide to give life to an artisan workshop that responds to the common desire to be part of the qualified and traditional row of marangoni and Venetian oarsmen. Ignazio, already a student of Letters and with an effective apprenticeship in important artisan workshops in Venice, is entrusted with the task of representing the company and being its CEO. Stefano will naturally be head carpentry and responsible for time and methods: his experience refined working alongside the most important marangoni and Venetian cabinet makers is too important, making himself known and appreciated by famous architects and designers who, then, remained "faithful" to him. For Aldo, tidy, precise, attentive to the millimeter (he is an aeronautical expert) with a natural love for construction details and the resolution of technical problems, he could only be entrusted with the role of project management and estimates: a guarantee for the workshop, for the customers, for production in general. Finally Damiano, who as strict manager of the finishes and paints department (when he was spraying, in front of the cascading water cabin, "fully dressed" must not disturb him for any reason because the presence of strangers could negatively affect the quality of the final product ), has been transformed, thanks also to his added computer skills, into the head of the administrative and computerization sector of Spazio Legno. Today this group has been able to conquer a place of absolute prominence in the Venetian artisan production. The fields of intervention range from specialist carpentry to the production of "made-to-measure" furnishings; from particularly well-finished and exclusive door and window frames - which in Venice always have the character of extraordinaryness - to minor shipbuilding. And again: roof terraces, restorations, exhibition stands or cultural events (the Campiello Prize to mention the best known) - participation in international market-exhibitions on wooden shipbuilding. The major and widespread Italian magazines of architecture, furnishings and craftsmanship have covered the work of Spazio Legno several times. However, this variegated production has a common denominator, a philosophy that cannot be overlooked: all the materials and working phases undergo strict anti-pollution controls, both in favor of people and things; both on the internal and external environment. In the autumn of 1998, Spazio Legno moved its headquarters and carpentry workshop to the large and comfortable sheds of the Minore Veneziana Shipbuilding Consortium, to the former Giudecca Shipyards, of which it is a consortium member.
