Master glassmaker

"I remember that as a child when I went to visit my father at the furnace, with the sole intention of having him offer me a Coca-Cola, I remained motionless and rapt and watched, not knowing what captured my attention so much. From that memory to today my journey has been long and rich in experiences."

Davide Fuin is considered one of the best glass masters in Murano, where he was born in 1962 and still lives and works. The Istituto Veneto di Lettere, Scienze ed Arti (Veneto Institute of Literature, Sciences and Arts) awarded him the "Glass in Venice" prize in 2015 for his ability to execute blown glass according to the Murano tradition, especially enhancing the techniques of reticello and retortoli filigree, incalmo and avventurina. Famous in particular for his glasses, he has collaborated with famous glass companies and worked on many projects with various international artists and designers. Every year he spends several weeks teaching in international art schools and his work can be found in the most important galleries, as well as private and museum collections, known for his classic Venetian glass. Since 2000, he has been working on a collection of goblets, vases, and museum reproductions in avventurina glass with the aim of opening a special market for exclusive clientele. The number of pieces and the preciousness of such brilliant glass elevates this collection beyond the functional, inextricably uniting technique and beauty.
