"The most precious treasures are often the most simple"

Signor Blum is an artisan company that has been working with wood since 1978, and since 1997 it has been all-female: Francesca Bampa, Francesca Grandese, and Laura Turchetto. Objects very different from each other but all in poplar wood, cut and colored, which can also be made on commission with images provided by the customer. Each item is completely handcrafted with creations conceived and designed by hand in the two workshops in the historic center of Venice. The first step is to draw the subject, which is glued onto a wooden board that will then be cut following the shape. All the pieces that make up the panel are obtained from a single wooden board. Then, the coloring is done with natural non-toxic products, carried out with different techniques: watercolor, pad, immersion, airbrush. Finally, the pieces are reassembled and placed in a copper frame. Alongside the production of panels, Signor Blum also creates other wooden objects (clocks and puzzles). There are many subjects created and range from church and Venetian palace facades to animals, airplanes and hot air balloons. In the store in Campo San Barnaba it is possible to assist in some phases of processing such as coloring and the final assembly of mobiles and magnets.
