"Hélène's energy is powerful, but what surprises and moves you is the grace with which the emotional material comes to life and breathes. Cecilia Gualazzini"
Hélène Kuhn was born in Nancy, France, to a family of musicians: her mother played the piano and the violin. At the age of twenty-one, she left of study in England where she met her future husband, the Venetian painter Bobo Ferruzzi, who taught her the mould technique for painting on fabric with which the artisan today creates her colored tapestries. In 1984 Hélène opened her first workshop in Venice together with Nora, Bobo's daughter - a small space in Campo San Maurizio, a meeting place - and then moved to its current location near the Guggenheim Museum in 1993 where she continues to marvel at the encounters that her fabrics bring. Indicative of her creations are their names: geometries, vibrations, lines, spheres, writings. These are collections that pursue the search for shades and 'vibratory oscillations' that lead Hélène Ferruzzi to see her works exhibited all over the world.
