"Creativity is part of my family's DNA, and if you are open to your surroundings, you will be constantly inspired by everything you see."

Susanna Lazzaro's passion for fashion and art began at an early age. A decisive role was played by her mother, owner of a tailor's, and her sisters, respectively a dance teacher, stylist and creative in the field of advertising. As a natural consequence of this family environment thriving with beauty and creativity, in 1979 Susanna opened the "Scatola magica" (Magic Box), a large atelier space in Venice that offers dresses and costumes for dance, theater and Carnival, numerous corsets, as well as wedding dresses and other lines of exclusive clothing. The deep knowledge of costume allows the artisan to recreate styles from the fourteenth to the twentieth century through the careful application of historical cut. Her skill in corsetry is also indispensable in reproducing the designs of dresses from the past. Susanna prefers to use natural fibers such as wool, cotton and silk, possibly made in Italy, and does not use synthetic materials except for specific theatrical needs. Nothing is left to chance, from the precious hand embroideries, to the search for feathers or vintage trimmings, fragments of the past that enrich the costumes of the time, from the study of the architecture of a crinoline, to the impeccable fit of a corset, up to the creation of a single button. This is how tutus for ballet and professional costumes for contemporary dance were born, garments that combine harmony and dynamism; generally designed to order, they are sometimes also available for hire.
