Quorami
Leatherwork
"...our items are designed to last, which favours a natural patina that not only strengthens and protects the leather, but also enhances its appearance."
Quorami (from the Venetian "curàme", meaning leather) is a workshop of leather belts, bags, and backpacks and a small boutique of leather accessories and objects, all entirely handmade with Made in Italy materials (vegetable tanned leathers and cow hides, printed and unprinted pony skins, crocodile skins, snake, python and dragon skins, and ostrich skins). Quorami was started with the hands of two craftsmen from Veneto united by their passion for leather and creativity. Giorgio approached the material as a boy, creating theatrical masks for the Commedia, in the renowned company of Donato Sartori. Lella, on the other hand, attended the Art Institute of Venice, soon dedicating herself to the design and production of leather bags. With thirty years of experience behind them, in October 2015 in Venice, Giorgio and Anna inaugurated their workshop in Calle della Mandola, a stone's throw from La Fenice Theater, in the San Marco district where Giorgio's daughter, Anna, also works. Here the belts, as if they were pieces of art, are exhibited in wooden frames and are shortened or fitted in the moment, and in just a few minutes it is perfectly tailored to the customer. To match the leather, Quorami presents a wide collection of buckles, all made in Florence, from basic silver to the most sumptuous piece, with floral embroidery and stones set. Another of their particularly renowned productions is the line of limited-edition bags and slippers from Friuli, made of leather and fabrics of "Rubelli Venezia", the latter with collections whose names recall the color of the precious silk velvet with which they are made: "Zaffiro, Carminio & Corallo".
